Capoeng Liveaboard
18m | 4 CABINS - 8 guests | 7 crew
Capoeng is a traditional Indonesian liveaboard, built for divers and ocean lovers who want to experience Komodo the authentic way. Over three days and two nights, you’ll explore eight of Komodo’s best dive sites – including Shotgun, Crystal Rock, Castle Rock, and the famous night dive at Wae Nilu.
Between dives, relax on deck with sunrise coffee, freshly cooked meals, and dinner under the stars. On land, you’ll meet the Komodo dragons on Rinca Island and finish with a sunset hike to breathtaking panoramic views.
This is a small, friendly, and relaxed liveaboard with modern comfort, a warm atmosphere, and a focus on real experiences rather than luxury for luxury’s sake.
Eat, dive, sleep – repeat
Onboard, you’ll find two shared bunk-bed cabins, one twin cabin, and a cozy dorm-style cabin, accommodating up to eight guests in total. The boat’s communal spaces include a sunny open deck with beanbags and a shaded top deck ideal for relaxing between dives, enjoying freshly cooked meals from our onboard chef, or simply watching the sun melt behind Komodo’s volcanic islands.
Whether you’re sipping your morning coffee at sunrise or winding down after a day exploring world-class dive sites like Batu Bolong, Manta Point, or Siaba Besar, Capoeng offers the perfect blend of comfort, community, and ocean adventure — a small-group liveaboard experience you’ll never forget.

Komodo Highlights Central + North
(7 dives + 1 night dive)
DAY 1 - Northern Wonders
Meet us at the dive shop at 08:30 AM before we board the boat and set course for the northern part of Komodo National Park... where the adventure begins!
Today, you’ll explore two of Komodo’s most iconic dive sites: Castle Rock and Crystal Rock. On calmer days, you’ll be mesmerised by the intricate beauty of the coral-covered walls — vibrant, colorful, and teeming with life.
As the sun sets, we’ll anchor near Pulau Bugis, a pristine and untouched beach, perfect for a peaceful evening walk or simply soaking in the magic of Komodo.
These dramatic pinnacles are renowned for their thrilling currents, which attract schools of sharks, giant trevallies, and countless reef fish dancing in the blue.
DAY 2 - From Adrenaline to Aquarium
Kick off your day with a heart-pounding drift dive at the legendary Shotgun site — a narrow channel where strong currents funnel marine life into a spectacular underwater show. Expect to encounter eagle rays, reef sharks, and sometimes even manta rays, all dancing in the flow.
Later, we’ll head to the central area of the park to dive Batu Bolong, often described as an underwater aquarium. From the surface down to 30 meters, the reef bursts with color, soft corals, and marine life in every direction — a photographer’s dream.
End your diving day at Tatawa Besar, where a gentle drift will carry you across a lush coral garden, past giant sponges, reef sharks, and schools of tropical fish.
In the evening, enjoy a truly magical sight: hundreds of flying bats rising from the mangroves at sunset — a natural spectacle you’ll never forget.
Day 3 – Manta Encounters & Komodo Dragons
Wake up at Manta Point (Makasar Reef) — the longest dive site in Komodo, and one of its most iconic. Drift gently through the channels as graceful manta rays glide past cleaning stations. Keep your eyes peeled for other surprise visitors: bumphead parrotfish, eagle rays, bamboo sharks, and more.
Next, dive into the vibrant world of Tatawa Kecil, a thrilling drift site overflowing with soft and hard corals, and schools of fusiliers, trevallies, snappers, and barracudas.
Finally, complete your Komodo adventure on land with a guided visit to see the legendary Komodo Dragons. Learn everything about these awe-inspiring, prehistoric reptiles from a local ranger in their natural habitat.
🌟 Three unforgettable days of exploration, adrenaline, beauty, and wonder — both above and below the surface.
Komodo is waiting for you.
Itinerary - 3D2N (December to April)
Komodo Highlights Central + South
(7 dives + 1 night dive)
Day 1
Meet us at the dive shop at 08:30 AM.
Your odyssey begins beneath the waves at Sebayur Kecil, where a tranquil coral garden welcomes you with open arms. In these serene, sun-dappled waters, you'll ease into the dreamlike world of Komodo’s reefs.
From there, surrender to the current at Mawan, where the ocean breathes in slow motion and majestic manta rays glide like shadows across the coral reef.
As daylight softens, step ashore on the enchanting shores of Pink Beach — a delicate ribbon of blush-colored sand, kissed by turquoise waters — the perfect finale to your first day in paradise.
Day 2
Awaken to a world alive with color at Colleen’s Corner, where clouds of anthias dance in a kaleidoscope of movement, and reef sharks or eagle rays might drift through like passing spirits.
Then, venture south to the fabled Manta Alley — a pulse-quickening dive site where mantas soar through the sea in elegant formation, as if choreographed by the currents themselves.
Later, float through the quiet wonder of Secret Garden, a gentle reef blooming with soft corals and tiny marvels tucked into every crevice.
As golden hour arrives, ascend the rugged trail of Padar Island to witness the sun melt into the horizon, painting the sky in a blaze of unforgettable color.
Day 3
Begin your final day with a step back in time on Komodo Island, where the ancient dragons still roam — powerful, prehistoric, and awe-inspiring.
Then, return to the sea for a dive at Batu Bolong, a towering cathedral of coral that rises from the depths, alive with shimmering trevallies, vibrant reef fish, and every shade of the underwater spectrum.
Finally, let Tatawa Kecil offer you one last embrace — a gentle drift past swaying sea fans, fields of soft coral, and the occasional turtle or barracuda gliding past, as if bidding you farewell from this realm of ocean magic.

FAQ – Capoeng Liveaboard
-
Our standard itinerary is 3 days / 2 nights, exploring some of Komodo National Park’s most iconic dive sites in the central and northern regions. Depending on the season, we alternate between the north and the south of the park to ensure optimal diving conditions — calm seas, great visibility, and a vibrant marine ecosystem. Each itinerary is thoughtfully designed around tides and currents so you experience the very best of Komodo. Longer expeditions or private charters can also be arranged on request.
-
You’ll enjoy up to 7 dives in total — usually 3 dives per full day, plus 1 or 2 dives on the first and last day. When conditions allow, we include a night dive at Waenilu, a magical muck site home to bobtail squids, decorator crabs, and nudibranchs. Expect a mix of world-famous sites like Batu Bolong, Manta Point (Mawan or Makassar Reef), and The Cauldron (also known as Shotgun), as well as calm coral gardens like Siaba Besar — a paradise for turtle lovers.
-
A minimum Open Water certification is required, and you should have dived within the past 12 months to ensure you’re comfortable in the water. Some sites in Komodo feature moderate to strong currents, so we recommend having your Advanced Open Water certification or equivalent experience.
It’s not possible to upgrade your certification during the liveaboard itself, but you can complete your Advanced course before departure with us in Labuan Bajo through our Daily Dive Trip — a perfect way to refresh your skills and get ready for the adventure ahead.
-
Yes, non-divers and snorkelers are more than welcome onboard! Komodo’s shallow reefs offer exceptional snorkeling opportunities — you’ll often spot turtles, reef sharks, and even manta rays right from the surface.
The boat also provides plenty of space to relax, sunbathe, or simply enjoy the scenery between stops. Snorkelers benefit from a 10% discount on the regular trip rate, making it a fantastic option for couples or friends traveling together with different diving levels.

-

Please bring your swimwear, and light, comfortable clothing suitable for tropical weather. A reef-safe sunscreen is mandatory, as it helps protect Komodo’s fragile coral ecosystems. Don’t forget your hat, sunglasses, toiletries, and a dry bag to keep your belongings safe and dry.
We also recommend bringing cash for crew tips, as card payments are not available once onboard. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks, soft drinks, or alcoholic beverages to enjoy during the cruise.
-
Water temperature ranges from 26°C to 29°C (79°F–84°F). Visibility is typically 15–30 meters, depending on the site and season. The north tends to be warmer and clearer, while the south offers cooler waters and vibrant coral walls.
-
The “best” season runs from April to November, with calm seas and excellent visibility. During this period, mantas, reef sharks, and turtles are frequently encountered. From December to March, we may operate in the central, north and south, where nutrient-rich waters attract large schools of fish and even more mantas.
-
Absolutely! Drones and underwater cameras are welcome onboard. Please make sure to follow Komodo National Park’s drone regulations and inform our team in advance if you plan to fly or film during the trip.
For your convenience, we also provide dedicated rinse buckets and safe charging areas for underwater photography equipment. If you don’t have your own camera, you can rent one directly from us in Labuan Bajo — we offer DJI Osmo Action 3 and DJI Osmo Action 4 cameras, perfect for capturing every magical underwater moment.
-
Tipping is voluntary but greatly appreciated. A suggested guideline is around 10% of your trip cost, which is shared equally among the crew and dive guides. Your contribution goes directly to supporting their hard work and hospitality. 💛
