Answer your Soul’s call to adventure and experience the unconventional.
Komodo National Park has one of the richest marine environments on the planet – and we know how to best dive it. We believe diving should be fun, not stressful. Our experienced dive professionals uphold the highest safety standards to ensure a comfortable and relaxed dive experience.
Every staff member is passionate about the marine life and our environment. We are conscious of the impact we have on it and do our best to keep it to a minimum. We run our shop as eco-friendly as reality and budget allows.
Our goal is to provide wold class diving, delicious food and excellent service while at the same time actively preserving our pristine paradise.
Our spacious dive shop is located right on the main street. We are open daily from 10.00 to 20.00.
Our friendly staff is always available to chat with you about diving, marine life and our trip offers. You are welcome to have a coffee or tea and study our informational material about the area or browse through fish books to get inspired for your next quest.
If you plan to dive the next day, please check-in with us before 18.30.
If you feel peckish – our Warung on the upper floor serves local Manado delicacies, soft drinks and chilled beer.
The dive sites in Komodo can be technically challenging due to the very strong current commonly encountered in many areas. It is important that the current conditions are understood, and dives are guided only by seasoned professionals that not only know where to dive but also understand when and how to dive the site.
Safety is always a priority. We choose dive sites that are appropriate for our divers based on their certification level, experience, and comfort. We check weather, tides and currents when we plan and check the currents upon arriving at the dive sites.
We base our dive groups on levels of experience and never assign more than 4 people to a guide.
All dives are boat dives. Luckily, Scuba Republic has one of the most comfortable and roomy day trip boats in the Park. The spacious dive deck is at sea level and has ample room to gear up. On our breezy top deck, you can recline on giant beanbags between dives while munching on a snack and taking in the breath-taking scenery.
As a bonus – we have a kitchen on board! Forget about soggy sandwiches and enjoy freshly prepared meals.

All certified divers must show proof of certification and have medical clearance for diving. We will need any and all medical questions and concerns addressed and cleared before your arrival. Our staff or the local doctors are not qualified to decide whether an individual is fit to dive.
Please check out the Medical History Form.
In some cases, we ask guests to provide medical proof. (If so happens that you’re already in Indonesia we can recommend facilities in Bali.)
Komodo National Park should still be considered a remote destination. The medical facilities are limited. Emergency evacuations may take 12-24 hours to the nearest major hospital in Bali and a possible helicopter transfer from Labuan Bajo Siloam Hospital is extremely expensive.
Therefore, a full travel insurance that covers possible evacuations AND diving accidents, is required for all our guests. We recommend including cover for any cancellations e.g. flights as Indonesian airlines are known for changing or even cancelling their flights rather frequently.
In case where you cannot show proof of travel insurance at the time of check-in you will be given opportunity to purchase one. Without insurance, or the proof of it, we will not permit you to part on the trip. We do not issue any refund for lack of insurance. Upon check in we also require you to sign a liability release form.
For any food allergies or dietary restrictions, we kindly ask you to inform us before boarding. We will try to meet your requirements but due to our remoteness we cannot guarantee to fulfill them. However, our crew is happy to prepare ingredients provided to us so feel free to purchase supplies before coming for the trip.
In 2019 the upper floor of our dive shop was transformed into a Warung and Bar. We serve local Manado cuisine from 11.00 until 22.00.
There’s nothing more satisfying after a strenuous day of diving, than watching the sun set over the harbour while enjoying a nicely chilled beer. If our guests were cats – they’d purr.
We at Scuba Republic Komodo don’t have our own accommodation, but we collaborate with La Boheme Bajo, a charming and popular hostel within walking distance, and can arrange a room for your stay.

For an authentic local experience, we are only a 5-minute walk from the fish market where you can enjoy the freshest fish barbecue for an incredible price.

There are several ATM’s nearby that take most credit and debit cards with VISA. Labuanbajo also has a few money exchange facilities.
